Route Ibiza and Formentera

The route from Alicante, however, is a treasure. It can be combined with the one-day and two-day routes that we propose on the web since you have to cross from Denia. In this case I will describe, broadly, a route that we have made several times so that you have an example of this route that, as I said, can be done to everyone’s taste. For the most passionate sailors, for example, you can make a route spending the night on the boat, with shifts to govern the sailboat, and reach Ibiza and Formentera in 20 to 24 hours.

The route that I suggest here is round trip to Ibiza and Formentera in a week. No need to say that you have to stock up on food, drinks, clothing and everything you need for a long journey. We start from the port of Alicante with destination to Denia. The objective of the first day is to spend the night in the nautical club of Denia. At an average speed of about 5 knots we have a journey of 11 or 12 hours ahead. Even if we do not make stops along the way, costing to the north the Costa Blanca is a luxury for anyone who enjoys sailing. Leaving, then, say at 10 in the morning, we arrive around 10 pm. to the nautical club of Denia.

The second day is a day of crossing the sea to San Antonio Abad, in Ibiza. The journey from Denia will be about 12 hours. We will spend the night at the San Antonio de Portmany yacht club. If you made this trip without hiring a skipper remember that you must have the title or equivalent of yacht skipper or the PER with extension for the Balearic Islands.

The third day we have to coast the island until we reach Ibiza, to spend the night in Marina Botafogo, where we have the mooring for the third night. The navigation on the island of Ibiza is really wonderful. Take the opportunity to visit calmly the infinity of small islands, coves and spectacular rock formations of the place. In Ibiza we are going to stay one more night to be able to also enjoy a day of a walk through the city and the nightlife.

On our fifth day of vacation we want to travel to Formentera, where we will spend the night in Marina La Savina. The route from Ibiza to Formentera will be about 8 and a half hours, so it is a unique opportunity to fully enjoy sailing through the Balearic Islands. The beauty of the place is something that you have to see for yourself.

From Formentera, on the sixth day of our itinerary, we want to get to Jávea to spend the night at the Club Nautico de Jávea. We are facing a journey of about 13 hours. It seems heavier to cross to the peninsula than to coast, but it is really a unique opportunity to enjoy sailing in the open sea.
In the morning of the last day of this one-week itinerary, we will travel from Jávea to the port of Alicante. In the route, which would be about 10 or 11 hours costing Altea, Benidorm and Villajoyosa, we can take our time to visit again known sites or discover some of its countless beautiful corners.

This is just an example for a week, but do not hesitate to consult with us so that we can help you make a route to your liking, according to the dates, preferences and needs that you have.

IBIZA AND FORMENTERA

Ibiza and, in general, the Balearic Islands, do not need presentation. It is one of the most striking destinations when one thinks of journeys through the Spanish Mediterranean. The route to the Balearic Islands is, in fact, a gift for any lover of sailing and without a doubt the sailboat is the best way to visit the islands. The Alicante-Ibiza route can be done in an infinite number of ways, according to travel times and preferences. However, it is usual that those who have never done it have a wrong conception. So, my first advice is to consult with us, without commitment, the itinerary. If you want to spend as much time as possible of your holidays in Ibiza itself, it is better to hire the charter there, since the round trip from Alicante takes many hours of navigation. We have been asked to do the check-in in Ibiza sometimes, but again it is advisable to check it well since the boat is being paid since leaving Alicante.
